What is the Mommy Makeover procedure?
The goal of a mommy makeover (also called body lift surgery) is to restore the shape and appearance of a woman’s body after childbearing or after a massive weight-loss. A mommy makeover, is a fairly standard combination of procedures that are performed together during a one operation. There are many areas of the body that can be addressed. Your mommy makeover may include:
– Breast lift and / or implants surgery 
Breast implants will restore fullness and lost volume, while a breast lift helps to lift sagging skin for improving shape. 
For those with disproportionately large, uncomfortable breasts, a breast reduction surgery can create a smaller, more ideal appearance.
– Tummy Tuck
– Liposuction 
– BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift / Fat injection into buttocks)
These are, the most common plastic surgery procedures for women overall.

Who is a good candidate for a mommy makeover?
You are a good candidate for mommy makeover surgery if you are:
–    In good medical health conditions
–    Close to your ideal body weight
–    If you have realistic expectations
–    You are finished with childbearing

Before the Mommy Makeover
The motivations and requests of the patient will be analysed during the preoperative consultation with the surgeon.
No medication containing aspirin should be taken within 10 days before surgery.
If you smoke, you will need to quit smoking from at least four weeks before the surgery until four weeks after the surgery. It is not enough to just cut down on smoking. Don’t try a drastic diet before the surgery. Eat well-balanced, complete meals. A healthy diet may help you heal better.

Anaesthesia for Mommy Makeover
This procedure be under general anesthesia or epidural anesthesia plus sedation.

How long does Mommy Makeover take?
The procedure takes approximately 5 hours to complete.
For Mommy Makeover one day of hospitalization is usually needed.

How visible will Mommy Makeover scars be?
1. Scars after a Tummy Tuck
The tummy tuck scar is made from hip to hip, to remove unwanted, sagging skin from your abdomen. 
Your surgeon will make your tummy tuck incision as low as possible, to hide your tummy tuck scar beneath a low-rise bikini or underwear.

2. Scars after a Breast Lift
The scars after your breast lift will depend on the degree of sagging of your breasts. When having a breast lift, you may have a unique scar around the areola (in case you have less sagging) or a vertical scar along the breast (in case you have more sagging), or in the case of significant sagging, you may need a transverse scar in the inframammary fold. 

3. Scars after a Breast Augmentation
In case you require a breast lift, the surgeon will use the breast lift incisions to put the implants and not create any additional scarring.
However in case you don’t require a breast lift surgery, the surgeon will make a new incision to insert the implants into your breasts.
Our surgeons use two different ways to insert the breast implants. Your scarring will depend on which incision type is used. 
The breast implant incision types are:
Inframammary, in which an incision is made at the bottom crease of your breast, where the breast meets the rib cage. 

Periareolar, in which an incision is made along the bottom curve of the areola. Typically, the change in color between the areola and your breast disguises the scarring naturally.
In both cases, scars are skillfully hidden so that no one will know you’ve had a breast augmentation.

4. Scars after a Liposuction 
Liposuction scars are very small incisions (almost invisible). In case you require a tummy tuck, your surgeon will insert the liposuction cannula through your tummy tuck incisions, to not create any additional scarring. 
For other areas (legs, back, arms…) small scars are made. After few months the scars will change colors from an initial pinkish scar to your natural skin tone. They will be typically unnoticeable.

Recovery & Healing after Mommy Makover
Combining multiple surgeries into one procedure will make your recovery time longer when compared to a single surgery, however if your health conditions allow you to have several procedures performed at same time, we recommend you to do it because your recovery time after a Mommy Makeover is still much shorter than recovering from each individual surgery separately. 
During your recovery process in Bolivia (minimum time required in Bolivia are 11 days), this will ensure that you are healing properly.
Your mommy makeover will require extensive rest to properly heal. The more invasive the surgery is the more time is required for healing. However the amount of time it will take to recover, as well as the level of pain and discomfort felt after the procedures will vary from patient to patient. The average time is around 15 days, and 20 days to return to your normal activities.
After your surgery we will recommend you to walk.
When healing from a Mommy Makeover, it is important to move your body to avoid complications. It will keep your body from becoming tight, stiff, decrease swelling, and to stop the formation of blood clots. Walking short distances will help your body heal. It will speed you recovery process and reduces the risks of complications. 
We also recommend you to bring oversized comfortable undergarments to make undressing easier. 
Following your doctor’s instructions after surgery is essential for proper mommy makeover recovery. The most common reason for complications following procedures is because of patients not following the instructions and advice of their surgeon.  

How long after a Mommy Makeover do you start seeing results?
Most people love how they look after this procedure. That can take time, though. You may not feel like your normal self for months after the surgery. Within three to five months is required to have a good overview of the result, knowing that the final appearance will be obtained after 8 months to 12 months after surgery. Diet and exercise can help you maintain the results.
